PARKOUR & FREERUNING CLASSES
Parkour can be described as "...an activity with the aim of moving from one point to another as efficiently and quickly as possible, using principally the abilities of the human body. It is meant to help one overcome obstacles, which can be anything in the surrounding environment—from branches and rocks to rails and concrete walls." (via Wikipedia)
Freerunning is described as "...a form of 'urban acrobatics' in which participants (free runners) use the city and rural landscape to perform movements through its structures. It incorporates efficient movements from parkour, adds aesthetic vaults and other acrobatics, such as tricking and street stunts, creating an athletic and aesthetically pleasing way of moving." (via Wikipedia)
Both classes are open to beginners. Please call the school if you have any questions. (You do not need to be a Kung Fu student in order to take these classes.)
White Lotus 2010 Schedule (pdf)
We ask all prospective students to observe classes before enrollment. This enables you to see what we teach and how we teach it, and it lets us answer any questions or concerns you might have.

Ryan Houchin, Freerunning
Ryan first began freerunning in February of 2007 and has been freerunning for over two years now. He became interested in freerunning from watching videos on YouTube. Since he started freerunning he has been devoted to training an average of 4 hours a day, every day since. He has two freerunning mentors, Victor Lopez who learned directly from Sebastien Foucan who founded freerunning, and his other mentor is Gabe Nunez, who got first place in the Barclaycard international Freerunning Competition 2008 held in London. Ryan has been in several freerunning commercials, music videos, has done stunts for shows on SpikeTV and has performed in Vegas. He is currently a part of the best team of freerunners in the United States, Tempest Freerunning.

David Elson, Freerunning
David is a new member to Team Tempest. He grew up in the town of Solon, Ohio, where he attended Kent State University. During his education he got into tricking with a good friend of his, Kevin Ni. From that point on flying through the air, flipping jumping and anything involving body control, became his life. After 2 years of intense training David decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue a career in stunts. This is where he met Ryan Houchin, who introduced David to freerunning. Freerunning then became his life, leading him to meeting Team Tempest and eventually joining up with them.
